9/11 Archive

Here are two of my favorite 9/11 archival websites.
Here is New York.

An online exhibit of professional and amateur photographs from the World Trade Center disaster. Interface isn’t as usable as I’d like, but the content is excellent.
StoryCorps – September 11

An ongoing audio project featuring oral histories of individuals who experienced 9/11. Amazing stories, in their [...]

Seven years later, 9/11 fades from Americans daily lives.

Today, exactly seven years after 9/11, it does not come as a surprise that the Miami Herald featured a story about it on its “front page”, dedicating the main picture and the “prime spot” (read top left) to the article on 9/11.
The focus of the story, however, if still not surprising, at least isn’t [...]

9/11 Coverage – Projo.com

The 7th anniversary 9/11 coverage for the Providence Journal was somewhat hidden. The coverage for the anniversary was twofold, there were localized stories, multimedia, and links from the front page of the website, and there were various AP stories and AP multimedia, including a live feed of memorial services at the pentagon(although this was [...]

NY1 Coverage- 7 Years Later

Al Jazeera in English:
Al Jazeera in English: One of the top stories was on 9-11 and it included this photo, but not a lot of extras. The story was amazing though.

43 percent of people in Egypt think that Israel was behind 9-11, according to the story. Hold the phone. The article said that about [...]

“7 Years Later…”

The front page of Fox News displays an image link to a story about President Bush’s moment of silence at the White House that will take place today, September 11, 2008, seven years after the day no American should ever forget.
There is a WATCH LIVE feature for video feed of the World Trade Center site [...]

September 11th in the U.K.

In the United States today, public officials, survivors, and family members of those killed in the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York and Washington, D.C. are gathering together to recognize the anniversary of the disaster. Regular Americans all over the country, even those with no prior connection to the World Trade Center, were shocked [...]

CNN- A Tragedy Remembered

While Americans remember and mourn today on the anniversary of the 9/11, it’s nice to know that some news organizations, like CNN, are commemorating this tragedy in a moderate, yet thoughtful way. Four stories concerning the lack of crash site memorials and the reflections of an army officer injured in the Pentagon attack top the [...]

9/11 Anniversary Coverage – The Day – New London, CT

From the first view of The Day’s homepage, the only article about 9/11, in your view, is an editorial titled “The day that changed the world.” Further down the page is another related article under the heading “Nation/World,” with the title “Voices added to relics at 9/11 museum.” I think The Day put [...]

LA Times Remembers 9/11

I knew when I chose to search the LA Times for coverage on 9/11 that the actual coverage would most likely not be as predominant as coverage in an east coast paper such as the NY Times or the Washington Post, and I was right. Both the NY Times and the Washington Post have a [...]

Al Jazeera’s take on 9/11…Poll shows majority still doubts Al Queda is to blame.

Al Jazeera just couldn’t resist. On the seventh anniversary of 9/11, their top story is about a poll released by worldpublicopinion.org that is headlined “Poll shows many still doubt 9/11.”
Interestingly enough, right above the link to this story on the homepage (shown below) there is a picture of people burning an American flag.
To the [...]
