Election Night: WFSB.COM

It was probably not a preferred news source for national election results, but wfsb.com, Connecticut news channel 3, provided visitors with plenty of content on Election Day at 10 p.m.

Among the local and national offerings:

  • Live video stream of candidate rallies and speeches from CNN. Worthwhile raw stuff. No reporter standups or pundit analysis. Just unfiltered scenes from around the country. However, I’m curious why WFSB, a CBS affiliate, isn’t streaming CBS video.
  • Live local and national results, updated dynamically on the home page and elsewhere. The dynamic maps and result charts appear to be provided by CNN, Internet Broadcasting Systems and The Associated Press.
  • Updated text stories paired with video stories.
  • Live blogging by local political analysts Brian Flaherty and Duby McDowell.
  • Local photo gallery. This content was lame. The gallery included only 7 pictures and the photos appear to be blurry still-grabs from video.
